Caregiver Job Description

Amazing Grace Home Care is looking for a highly compassionate and dependable CNA or HHA to fill the position of Caregiver. This is a flexible PRN position with part-time or full-time hours available based on the caregiver and client needs. Job Description:

We are looking for highly compassionate and dedicated CNAs or HHAs to join our growing team. You must be ready to provide in-home care for our clients in a respectful and compassionate way, and expect to be respected and valued in return. Amazing Grace Home Care is dedicated to hiring exceptional people we can trust with our own families. Our caregivers deliver various services in accordance with an established plan of care and provide for the companionship needs and comfort of clients in their homes. This position has a flexible schedule with part-time, full-time, or on-call hours available.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities can include any of the following:

  • Activities of Daily Living and mobility assistance
  • Personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting, etc.)
  • Provide continuous companionship for the client
  • Plan and prepare meals, light housekeeping
  • Errands/shopping, non-medical transportation
  • Help the client remain active, including social activities, and help with technology if desired
  • Observe the client’s general physical, emotional, and mental condition
  • Provide medication reminders and supervise the self-administration of medication
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of the client and family

Required Qualifications:

  • Current CNA or HHA certification, or equivalent training
  • Current adult CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
  • Previous adult caregiving experience
  • Ability to prepare basic meals and do light housekeeping
  • Evidence of a sympathetic attitude toward elderly or disabled individuals
  • Good verbal communication skills required
  • Must pass a background check satisfactorily and consent to random drug testing
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the home care industry or serving elderly/disabled individuals

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include lifting 50+ pounds and extensive bending and standing
  • Deal effectively with stress.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
  • Must reside in Idaho or be willing to relocate.
